The Easter in Kenya Group Trip uniquely planned by A-Bay Tours has finally come and gone with huge success stories to it. I will be telling this story from our guests’ narration and feedbacks.
The trip took off on the 19th of April with departure flight from both Lagos and Abuja, recording a group of active adventurous travellers. The trip came with a half-board package which covered breakfast and dinner, Hotel Accommodation, Return-flight ticket, Transfers and Tours; giving our guests the luxury of having a hassle-free vacation. Our guests arrived at Moi International Airport in Mombasa at about 11:30 AM on the 20th April 2019 after an overnight stay at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. They were warmly welcomed by our amiable tour guide who was already on standby at the airport in wait for their arrival.
Arrival in Mombasa
On arrival, the guests were transferred in a well air-conditioned mini-shuttle to the hotel, Leisure Lodge Beach & Golf Resorts, a 4-star beach resort located at Diani beach not so far from Mombasa city- a luxurious property with a private golf course. The best parts of this property are the lavish room with an ocean view, its world-class casino and Spa where one can visit for relaxing and rejuvenating Swedish deep tissue massage by expert masseuses.
Our guests checked-in to their various rooms to freshen up and as well have a good rest after the long trip. Later that evening, they went for a special dinner at Ali Barbour’s cave restaurant. An amazing restaurant built in a cave with nice ambience and quality mouth-watering meals. The meals served range from seafood to local delicacies to continental dishes, well prepared and freshly made. It was an amazing evening for them as they had more than enough to eat and drink. One of the guests by the name Kennedy expressed his excitement via his WhatsApp story. Here is what he posted:
The first tour
The next day, the guests had a good time with a visit to the Pristine Wasini Island, a beautiful Island that lays just north of the delicate Kisite Marine Park with irresistible waters and rich water bodies. They went on a boat ride, sailed through the island waters while taking in sights and beauties of the coral reef, flora and fauna that make up this beautiful Island of Wasini. The best part of this tour was the Dolphins. If you haven’t heard, dolphins are the most intelligent water habitat known for its friendliness. They are lovable and fun to play with. After a tour around the island, a mouth-watering lunch was served.
It was a free day for the guests to sight through the city, go shopping, take a walk, and perhaps meet new friends. The day started with breakfast at the hotel, then leisure and ended with well-served dinner at the hotel.
A trip to Nairobi
Early on Tuesday morning, the team was geared up for a road trip to Nairobi, everyone was excited about this because they were sure to pass by two big national parks, the most popular being the Tsavo West National Park. It was a long road trip as against the initial flight option which was cancelled prior that day. It was not just a magical experience but also an enjoyable and scenic one. The team arrived Nairobi later in the evening and were checked in to their accommodation after which they were treated to a sumptuous dinner.
The next day, they headed out for a city tour with a visit to Nairobi safari, the elephant orphanage and the Giraffe Centre. They had the chance to interact with the locals, learn of their lifestyle and cultures.
The Giraffe Centre:
The Giraffe centre is one of the world’s most famous nature education centre. They were able to come in close contact with the world’s tallest but endangered animal, the Giraffe. It was an amazing sight at the Nairobi safari with sights of different species of animals like the ‘Big Five’ -Buffalo, Rhino, Elephant, African Lion and African Leopard.
Later, they headed to Carnivore Restaurant for a late lunch; the name says it all. It’s a must-visit for meat lovers and those who wish to try different exotic meat; the variety there is beyond your imagination they said. They had a good meal accompanied by rounds of their local drink, dawa. It is a cocktail made up of vodka, honey and lemon, and is served on the rocks.
Later that evening, they headed out to check out Nairobi’s nightlife. They had a little get together, exchanged goodbyes, and retire to their beds in preparation for their departure the next morning. Though the holiday has come to an end, the memories and experiences have never ceased to leave their mouths.
They took turns in expressing their excitement and satisfaction with the Easter in Kenya trip via different social media platforms. Here is what they have to say:
David Oluwanisola: “It was great meeting you guys and spending Easter with cool folks like you guys, hope our paths cross soon and we get to have some fun. Cheers!”.
Mr Kennedy: “We came as strangers and leave as friends, Good morning everyone and happy new weekend! I miss every one of you, the food, the laugh, the gist, the pictures etc. God’s love and blessings upon everyone and the management of A-Bay Tours”.
