Thailand tour experience with @a_baytours was a combination of relaxation, active entertainment, and networking.
Upon arrival at Phuket, our clients were ushered into a Luxury 5-star resort, with a very warm welcome from our tour guides and were treated to a dinner banquet.
Our experience began with a tour of the lively towns and exploring the historical sights of Phuket and Bangkok respectively, there were so many beautiful places to see and much to learn about Thailand.
We visited the beating heart of Thai local culture – the Wat Chalong temple in Phuket City. The temple is as colourful as it is steeped in stories of days gone by. The trip coincided with a local fete where our clients were treated to traditional food and drink joined by music, dance, and handmade crafts.
Many think that an evening in Phuket consists of just a lively trip to a nightclub or a stroll to a seaside bar to sip cocktails while the moonlight dances on the waves of the sea, these are only part of the tale, we did more than that. We had the first-hand experience of the Thai nightlife, there were songs and dance numbers, magic shows and plenty more; like the FantaSea Show; where lights, colour, sounds and Thai myths merge with some outlandish modern twists.
The highlight of the Thailand tour was the Songkran festival, informally called “the Thailand water festival. This is an annual event marking the start of the traditional Thai New Year. This festival is about cleaning, purification, and having a fresh start; houses are cleaned; Buddha statues are carried through the streets in a procession to be washed with flower-scented water. As soon as the processions and formalities ended, we hit the street to party, and throw water on each other, Wakanda style.
Songkran is the largest celebration in Thailand and is well known as the wildest water fight in the world and of course, we were part of the battle.
Other tour activities included a boat cruise to James Bond Island where our clients had canon rides, got swimming on the island, attended a private party, and finally, had special dinner on the boat on the night of Thai New Year.
Talk about all round fun and excitement, the whole experience was like a home away from home.
