A-Bay Tours remains one of the primary promoters of the annual Nollywood festival in Paris. This year’s event took place from 9-12 May 2019 at the Cinema l’Arlequin.
A-Bay Tours had the pleasure of giving Zainab Balogun a solo tour of Paris on her first day. She was taken to the Place La Concorde and La Village Royal.
On the next day, we headed out with Zainab Balogun, Lala Akindoju, Tope Oshin, Odenike, and Karibi for some Paris adventure! We visited and climbed the did Eiffel Tower, Had a city tour – went to the Village Royal where the colourful umbrellas are. Rode electric scooters. Saw the Alexandra Bridge which was built to show the relationship between France and Russia back in 1892. It was built between 1896 and 1900. It is named after Tsar Alexander III, who had concluded the Franco-Russian Alliance in 1892.
We also saw the Replica of the flame on the stature of liberty which was a gift from the US to France. People think that the flame was out there in commemoration of Princess Diana because she died in the tunnel under (Pont de l’Alma road tunnel).
Did you know: The Flame of Liberty has since been restored and is now surrounded by a symbolic chain to protect it from enthusiastic admirers.
They also saw the Obelisk at the Place De La Concorde. This obelisk was a gift from Egypt to France in 1833. It was taken from the Luxor Temple in Egypt. Our August tour to Egypt includes a visit to the temple. When you go there, you will see where it was taken from.
Tope Oshin had her “début” on a two-tyre locomotive and she did impressively well with hypes from Ade from A-Bay Tours.
